Oh my goodness, I remember back in November when I vowed to be better at blogging..... Oops. Just like I vowed to be better at exercise, eating, parenting, the list goes on and on. Well, the good thing is I'm not a quitter, and I'm back. We have had a few bumps in the road, and a few change of plans, and we're back in the game.
The end of March we moved to Phoenix, where Jared got a great job with a law firm here. Finally!! After 9 long months of unemployment, temporary positions, living in different states, we are back under the same roof. I am loving the sunshine! I know everyone here always says, "Just wait until summer hits" I know, I know... 125 degree days, I get it, but for now, I am just enjoying thawing out from the bitter cold Utah winter. The boys love living where they can be boys and play outside all day long. We downsized in our home size, all three boys are in the same room, and though we miss our family in Utah, and miss having a viewing party every night in Mom and Dad J's bedroom, we are happy to be back on our own feet again.
Jared is working crazy hours trying to get adjusted to a life of lots of work to do in a very busy law firm. Any work that dried up in Texas must have come to Arizona, because they have plenty to keep him busy. We try to drive to his work to see him for dinner one night a week. Although it stinks to not see him before 2 am every day, we are grateful that he has a job, and we are so proud of him for coming out stronger and better from his biggest trial yet.
We decided it was time to take Jared out of the office for awhile on Saturday, and so we took him to a Diamondbacks game. I love that stadium. It was 99 degrees outside, and I was nervous that we were going to get fried! Nope, not here, they have a retractable roof, and air conditioning! Giddy Up! And even though we lost miserably to the Milwaukee Brewers, the hot dogs were yummy, garlic fries delicious, Pepsi cold and fizzy, and we had great seats on the 3rd baseline. Relaxing night to spend as a family.
My sweet vanishing mom is still fighting! After a big scare in February, she's back home again and doing her best each day to continue the fight. She has lost a lot of weight from her lack of appetite and sickness caused by the meds, so if you see her you might not recognize her, she's much smaller than I am at this point. I am so excited that she is coming down this Friday to stay with me for the week! I will treasure every single minute I get left with her. Who knows, she might surprise us all and live for 10 more years, all the doctors keep trying to sign her up for Hospice, but she tells them all that she's not ready for that yet, now if only her kidneys would listen. :)
Well, that's it for now, an update.
